Botox® Cosmetics effectively improves the appearance of frown lines, worry lines, laugh lines, crows’ feet and other dynamic wrinkles for a temporary period of time. Botox treatments are simple and non-surgical with relatively no pain or discomfort.
An Detroit Plastic Surgery technician, specifically trained to safely administer Botox, injects the medication directly into the facial muscles with a very fine needle. The medication blocks the nerve impulses in those muscles, reducing the muscle activity that causes various wrinkles and lines.

Step 1 Consultation
A thorough consultation is an important first step when deciding if a Botox Cosmetic treatment is the right option for you. Step 2 Treatment
Before your treatment, we will answer any questions that may have come up since your consultation. Every effort is made to make certain that all of your concerns are addressed and you are as comfortable as possible.
During treatment, the Botox medication is injected precisely into the tiny facial muscles of the treatment area with a very fine needle. The medication blocks the nerve impulses in those muscles, reducing the muscle activity that causes wrinkles and lines. Because the needle and the amount of medication used in a treatment are so small, discomfort is usually minimal and no sedatives or local anesthetics are needed.
Step 3 Recovery
After treatment, you may experience some swelling, redness, pain, bruising and tenderness, but these are very temporary. You can go back to your regular activities right after treatment.
Step 4 Results
Results do vary, but patients typically enjoy a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines with smoother skin and a more youthful appearance. Full results are usually seen within two weeks of treatment. The overlying skin is smooth and wrinkle-free while the underlying, untreated muscles are still able to contract, allowing you to make natural facial expressions after treatment.
Botox results are not permanent and typically last four to six months depending on your skin type and skin condition. For sustained results, we suggest having two or three injections a year at three to four month intervals.
